For anyone present, Wednesday was wild, gale force winds! Tents flying, people lifted off the ground and tires being flung over a 13’6″ trailer…

Qualifying did not go as planned, predicted a top 20 finish but blew my air pump fuse causing me to lose the ability to shift, P29.

Race 1 – Carnage. Thankfully I was able to battle my way through the field, avoiding contact and finish P17. My little sister Kelsey#19 and brother in-law Jared#99 were not so lucky. Both had no where to go in the turn 2 pile up. Thanks to some helping hands from #LateEntryMotorsports we were able to get them both out for race 2.

Race 2 – Ups and downs. I did not get the start I hoped for, dropping back outside the top 20. With some clever race craft and luck I was able to obtain 17th at the checkered.

Race 3 – RAIN. I have yet to drive a Rush in the rain, BUT I love rain races and was hopeful. Due to the battles in the first two races I did not set a fast time, starting P27. Fortunately the muscle memory kicked in from years of Karting, finishing P16! I’d like to give a shout out to those around me, it was some spectacular and respectful racing.

Race 4 – Time to send it. The start was average, nothing to write home about. Good battles, gaining and losing positions, until the full course caution. The restart was BEYOND fantastic. Green flag drops and I get a great start. All cars ahead of me maintain double file so I hung it on the outside with no one to block me. I was able to gain 5 positions putting me P15, most importantly passing Bret ๐Ÿ™‚ After the restart it was a game of cat and mouse, defending and attacking. Thankfully I was able to snag one more spot securing P14 for the weekend!
