Sam Reed caught the track day bug in 2018 and hasn’t looked back. After putting down a deposit on his first Rush in 2021 and taking delivery that December, the 2022 season sealed the deal—he was hooked.

What started as a customer relationship turned into something more. By the end of 2022, Sam had invested in Rush Auto Works. In 2025, following the passing of founder Dave Hosie, he stepped up as majority owner and president to carry the company forward.

Now the proud owner of four Rush SRs, Sam splits his time between running the business, chasing after three kids, managing a few financial ventures, and being in his happy place: the paddock. You’ll find him in car #256 mid-pack in the GridLife series, helping other drivers dial in their setups, lending a hand wrenching between sessions, or talking anyone’s ear off about these cars.

Sam’s proudest achievement? Building a company where the founders and owners actually race the cars themselves. He and Blair Hosie personally test new parts and designs on track—because you can’t know what drivers need if you’re not one yourself. Sam admits the kids and businesses living rent-free in his head cost him a few tenths, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
