GRIDLIFE Midwest Fest is hands down my favorite event of the year, and this weekend reminded me why.
The team and I got off to a strong start, bringing home P10 in Race 1, P7 in Race 2, and earning a spot in the Top 10 Shootout. One of the biggest takeaways from the weekend came off the track. After spending some time talking with Alan Strommer, I realized I haven’t been driving the car anywhere near its full potential. It’s exciting to know there’s still a lot more speed left in both the car and myself. Thanks, Alan, for taking the time to share your insight and helping me see where I can improve.
Unfortunately, Sunday had other plans. After making up 3 positions in the first 3 turns, a GCU failure ended our weekend and put us on the trailer early.
Racing can be brutal sometimes, but that’s part of it. Despite the disappointing finish, I’m leaving Midwest Fest motivated and excited for what’s ahead. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make the weekend possible. We’ll regroup, fix the issues, and come back stronger at the next one. 👊🏁
